NASCAR Food City 500 – Preview, Predictions, Odds

The fifth Sprint Cup race of the 2010 NASCAR season takes us to Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee for the Food City 500 this Sunday, March 21st starting at 1:30 P.M. (EST). This is the first of two races that will be run at Thunder Valley this season. There was no race scheduled last weekend, but the week before in Atlanta, Kurt Busch took the checkered flag in the Kobalt Tools 500. Denny Hamlin is the current favorite to win this Sunday, but there are a few drivers that might have something to say about that. The following is a preview of who to watch for in this week’s race along with their current odds to win.

Denny Hamlin 7-1

Hamlin is favored to win this week, but given how he has done so far this season it is hard to understand why. He is currently is 22nd place, 235 points out of the lead. His best finish in this race was last year when he started from the 24th position and just missed taking the checkered flag, finishing second. He does have five top 10 finishes at this track and two in this race.

NASCAR Sprint Cup Chase Review

We are four races into the 2010 NASCAR season and the Chase for the Race is underway. With no race scheduled for this week it is a good time to take a look at how some of the favorites are doing so far along with their current odds to win this year’s Sprint Cup.

Jimmie Johnson Current Odds 9-5

The four time Sprint Cup Champion is off to another great start as he looks to extend his record to five titles in a row. After a disappointing 35th place finish at Daytona because of car trouble, he went out and won the next two races; the Auto Club 500 at Fontana and the Shelby American at Las Vegas. Last week in Atlanta, he started from the 16th position and finished 12th. Through four races Johnson is currently in 4th place overall, 74 points out of the lead.

Jeff Gordon Current Odds 6-1

NASCAR Auto Club 500 – Preview, Predictions, Odds
