Colorado Rockies Team Information

The Colorado Rockies are a professional team based in Denver, Colorado. The team was founded in the year 1991. The Rockies played their first regular game session in 1993, against the New York Mets at Shea stadium, then the Rockies hosted the Montreal Expos at Mile High Stadium. Colorado earned their first win 11-4, behind 37-year-old Bryn Smith, who blanks the Expos over seven innings. The Rockies concluded their inaugural season by registering a record of 65 wins the most to be made by an NL expansion club. The team led the National League in attendance every year from 1993 to 1999. The Rockies led all NL teams in batting average (.282), home runs (200), hits (1406), and runs scored (785) in 1995 as manager Don Baylor directed the club to a wild-card playoff berth. In 1995, The Rockies ended the season with a 77-67 record good enough to win the NL's first Wild Card berth.

At the end of the season, Manager Don Baylor is named NL Manager of the Year, and OF Dante Bichette finishes 2nd in MVP voting. The Rockies became the first team in 1996 to register 200 Home Runs and 200 Stolen Bases en-route setting a modern Major League 658 runs at home. The Rockies ended the 1996 season at 3 rd place with a record of 83-79 and ending the season with seven games out of the Wild Card Spot. Larry Walker achieved the NL MVP award in the 1997 session; he became the first Canadian player to win the award. The Rockies managed to achieve 3 rd place with good score of 83-79. The team lost its valuable player Dough Million as he passed away due to severe attack of asthma. In 1998, Coors Field hosted the 69th annual Major League All-Star festivities, beginning with All-Star Workout Day. The Game itself was the highest-scoring All-Star Game in history; the Americans defeated the Nationals, 13-8. Roberto Alomar of the Baltimore Orioles captivated the MVP award. The Rockies managed to end the season in 4th Place with a 77-85 record. Following this season Manager Don Baylor was replaced with Jim Leyland. The Rockies and San Diego Padres became the first teams ever to open a Major League schedule outside of the U.S. or Canada, playing in Monterrey, Mexico.

The Rockies won 8-2. One Just after a month, the Rockies became the third team in the 20th century to score in every inning of a 9-inning game, in a 13-6 win over the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field. Unfortunately the Rockies in 1999 they ended the season in Last Place with a 70-92 record despite making serious efforts. Soon after this season manager Jim Leyland retired from the team. In the next session the Rockies gave a golden chance for there fans to be happy as they ended the season in 82-80 score. The 2000s period was not a fortunate period for the Rockies as they could not achieve much glory. They started the 2002 session with a terrible score of 6-16 resulting in the replacement of Manager Buddy Bell with Clint Hurdle. The sessions 2003 and 2004 were the similar kind of sessions as the Rockies registered losses and terrible records.
