The Baltimore Orioles are a professional team based in Baltimore, Maryland. The Orioles started out as the Milwaukee Brewers in 1893, a franchise from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, which played in the minor Western League. The team was founded in 1954 season and named themselves after an attractive bird of black and orange that has the same name. In the first season of the team finished on seventh place despite this record they managed to draw a huge number of fans towards themselves. The team made a record of 89-65 in 1960 season. The Orioles eclipsed the 90-win mark for the first time finishing 95-67, but still finished 14 games behind the New York Yankees, in 3rd Place, in 1961 season. Frank Robinson captivated AL MVP and Triple Crown in 1966 season, the Orioles finished the season with a 97-65 and cruised to their first AL Championship. Manager Hank Bauer was fired and was replaced by Earl Weaver, under the new coach the team captivated 12 games in first place and ended the season in 2 nd place with a brilliant record of 91-71 in 1968 season.
In the next session, the Orioles dominated the American League East, in the first year of divisional play, with a best record of 109-53. In the ear 1970 the team posted three 20-game winners, Dave McNally (24-9) and Mike Cuellar (24-8) leading the way, followed by Jim Palmer, whose 20-10, they again cruised to the AL East title with a record of 108-54. The team again captivated the ALCS and headed towards the World Series this time from Minnesota Twins. They registered excellent record from 1964 to 1983 years. They recorded a 20-season span during which they won seven division titles, six pennants, and three World Series championships. Lou Gehrig's maintained an "unbreakable" record of 2139 consecutive games. Manager Earl Weaver announced his retirement 15 winning seasons at the helm in 1982 season.
