Basketball Betting Rules
Basketball is the third biggest sport in the United States, and the College Basketball Championship Tournament played every March is one of the biggest events in the sports betting year. Basketball betting is offered as pointspread, moneyline and totals markets. In the NBA, the game must last for 43 or more minutes to be considered "action". College basketball games must last for 35 or more minutes to be considered "action". Overtime counts in the settlement of all basketball bets unless otherwise stated.

In the example, the spread is set at three points. The +3.0 after the Detroit Pistons means that the Pistons are the underdog in this game; the Pistons must either win, or not lose by more than three points, for a bet on the Pistons to win.
The –3.0 after the LA Lakers means that the Lakers are the favorite; the Lakers must win by more than three points for a bet on the Lakers to win.
If the Lakers win by exactly three points, then the bet is said to have fallen on the spread and is deemed a push. All bets are voided and the stakes returned in this instance.
The second number, -110, after each team, is the price of a winning bet. A winning bettor will win $100 for every $110 bet.
NFL & NCAA Football Betting & Rules
Sportbet.com will always be one of the first to offer lines for the NBA, NCAA, and WNBA as well as all the pre-season games. In both, the NCAA and NBA, we offer 1st half and 2nd half wagers. In the NBA, lines will be offered on every single quarter. All lines for the following day are posted not later than 12 noon. Along with the regular game lines, you can also wager on futures and in excess of 100 daily NBA and NCAA propositions.
Straight Football Bets
Straight basketball bets(side): When wagering on LOS ANGELES, you must win by at least 5 points to win your wager. When wagering on DALLAS, you cannot lose by more than 4 points to win the bet. If the line was exactly -5, and Los Angeles wins by exactly 5 points, then the bet is a "push", and stake or money is returned to your account. (total): When betting on the total score of a game, you must take the OVER or the UNDER. Regardless of the outcome, the combined score of the two teams will determine if you win or lose your bet. Remember, overtime will always count for the 2 nd half and full game wagers. If you bet Dallas to go OVER 201, and the final score is 112-89, your bet is a “push”, and the money will be returned to your account.

Basketball Money Line Bets
When wagering on the money line, you must win the game straight up in order to win your bet. Wagering on Los Angeles -210 means you must risk $210 to win $100. It does not matter by how many points LA wins, just that they win. Wagering on DALLAS +180, you stake $100 to win $180. Again, in this case, Dallas just needs to win straight up.
IN THE EVENT OF A POSTPONED OR SUSPENDED GAME, ALL NBA GAMES ARE CONSIDERED FINAL AFTER 43 MINUTES OF PLAY. USING THE ABOVE SITUATION IN THENCAA, ALL GAMES ARE CONSIDERED FINAL AFTER 35 MINUTES OF PLAY.
Basketball Future Bets
Future wagers, such as; to win any championship or any division, are graded as soon as the season or tournament is over.

Basketball Teaser Bet Rules:
In case of no action or a tie in a Teaser, it reverts to a lower number (i.e., a 4 team teaser with one tie and three wins will revert to a three team teaser, with its corresponding pay-out). The exception will be the two team teaser in the event of a win and a tie it will be graded as a push. Any loss will make the teaser a loser. Over the internet, Teasers are limited to 6 teams, and also to a specific payout:
Basketball Teasers: 4 pts, 4½ pts, 5 pts.

A two team teaser with a tie and a win, or a no action and a win is considered a push and your wager amount is refunded to your account.

Any wager in which there is a tie it will be considered a lost. Speacial teasers do not revert or get cancel unless all teams selected are cancel.
Note: Teasers are restricted to full-game bets only. Half-time and Quarter bets are not allowed for teasers.
Basketball Buying Points Rules:
Points can be bought in basketball for the complete game only. They can be bought on the sides and the totals. When you buy points the spread will change to your advantage but will increase the amount you have to risk in order to win the bet. (click here for odds info)
Basketball Player vs. Player Game Match-Ups:
Both players must play in order to have action. All props will be graded 2-4 hours after the event is completed.
