Indiana blew a golden opportunity to take a commanding 3-1 series lead on Sunday afternoon. The Pacers took an 8-point lead (54-46) into halftime, but they played a terrible second half and lost 101-93. That loss was a major blow to the inexperienced Pacers team, especially since that game was on their home court. We expect Indiana to have a hangover in tonight’s game, even though the series is still tied at 2 games apiece. Indiana has a bad match-up with Miami even without Chris Bosh on the floor. The Pacers simply do not have a defensive stopper that can slow down LeBron James; he scored 40 points in Game 4 while getting to the free throw line 16 times. This mismatch has been evident in every game played between these two teams this season, and with Miami back home in this crucial Game 5, we expect LeBron to take over the game once again.
Miami’s confidence is back, and considering they’ve played terrific basketball at home all season, the Heat will look to pour it on tonight. Miami is 32-6 on their home court this year, and since they lost their last home game to the Pacers in Game 2, we can expect a peak performance tonight. In their other five home playoff games, Miami is 4-1 SU and ATS with all four wins coming by 9 points or more. Their offense scored 95 points or more in all four of those wins, and with their offensive edge over the Pacers, the Heat should have plenty of offensive success tonight. We respect how Indiana plays as a team, but they simply do not match-up well against Miami’s scorers. With the Pacers’ psyche fragile off the home loss, we expect Miami to take full advantage and win Game 5 by double digits.

MLB | May 22, 2012 Colorado Rockies vs. Miami Marlins
Miami hopes to extend Colorado's losing streak as they host the Rockies on Tuesday night. Juan Nicasio will make his first start against the Marlins. He is 2-1 with a 4.37 ERA in eight starts this season. The righty has been a bit better in his three road starts allowing 3 runs and 19 hits in those games. He'll face a Marlins team that is 10-7 at home where they hit over .270 as a team. The team has won five of their last seven games and they are beginning to get the hitting they expected from their potent lineup. Nicasio will be backed by a bullpen that has struggled on the road going 3-5 with four blown saves in nine chances.
Ricky Nolasco is hoping to move into the lead in all-time victories for the Marlins franchise. He needs just one more win and he will face a Rockies team that he's 5-1 against in seven career starts. Carlos Gonzalez (3-13), Ramon Hernandez (1-9) and Dexter Fowler (1-4) have poor numbers against the Marlins’ starter. Colorado has lost five straight games and they are hitting right around .230 in their last eight games. The Rockies continue to be a different team away from home hitting right around .220 in their 18 road games this season. The Marlins’ bullpen has been good at winning games going 6-1 at home despite the fact that they have blown three saves in six chances. The Marlins have won six of their last eight games at home against Colorado, and we expect that trend to continue tonight.

MLB | May 22, 2012 Detroit Tigers vs. Cleveland Indians
An important series in the A.L. Central begins on Tuesday night with the Indians hosting the Tigers. Rick Porcello has struggled for the Tigers going 3-3 with a 5.12 ERA in eight games this season. He has given up 10 runs and 15 hits in his last two starts against the Twins and Athletics. Porcello faced the Indians five times last year going 1-1 with a 6.41 ERA in those games. Asdrubal Cabrera (9-37), Travis Hafner (6-22), Jack Hannahan (4-10), Jason Kipnis (4-8), Matt LaPorta (3-9) and Carlos Santana (6-16) hit the Tigers’ starter well. The Indians are hitting .260 against right-handed starters and they are scoring over 5 runs per game against the rest of the division. The Detroit bullpen struggles on the road going 2-4 with a 6.95 ERA blowing three saves in eight chances.
Ubaldo Jimenez is far from the pitcher that dominated as a member of the Rockies. He is 4-3 with a 5.09 ERA with only 28 strikeouts and 32 walks. The righty has given up 10 runs and 16 hits in his last three starts. Jimenez saw the Tigers five times last season going 2-3 with a 6.35 ERA in those contests. Miguel Cabrera (7-19), Prince Fielder (5-16), Delmon Young (8-15) and Alex Avila (3-8) all hit the righty well. Detroit is hitting .287 in their last seven games and .256 on the road. It's a lineup that is capable of beating up on poor pitching. Cleveland's bullpen is 3-5 with a 4.48 ERA at home as a unit. These two offenses should be able to tee off on the opposing pitchers making this a high-scoring game between the Tigers and Indians.
