Saunders will not be motivated tonight, and he'll get rocked by this red hot Phillies line-up. The Phillies have scored 43 runs during this 7-game winning streak for an average of 6.1 RPG. Saunders is just 6-10 with a 4.62 ERA and 1.492 WHIP this season. The Phillies send Kyle Kendrick to the mound, and though his numbers aren't great, he has been effective. Philly is 7-2 in Kendrick's 9 home starts this season. The Diamondbacks are now 13-35 on the road this season, getting outscored 3.8 to 5.8 on average. As of Wednesday, Arizona was hitting .233 on the road while their opponents were hitting .290 with a .370 on base percentage. Philly is 7-0 in their last 7 games, 7-0 in Kendrick's last 7 starts as a home favorite of -151 to -200, 6-0 in Kendrick's last 6 starts vs. a team with a losing record, and 4-0 in Kenrick's last 4 home starts overall. The Braves should be at least a -150 favorite considering how poorly Scott Olsen has pitched against Atlanta. Olsen is 3-5 with a 5.73 ERA and 1.500 WHIP in 13 career starts versus the Braves. Atlanta starter Derek Lowe is a solid 6-5 with a 3.78 ERA in 13 career starts vs. Washington. The Nationals are now 3-8 in their last 11 games and realize that their chances of winning the NL East are all but gone. Atlanta knows they must keep winning to get head coach Bobby Cox back to the postseason, because the Phillies have won 7 straight and are now right on their tail. The Braves have handled the pressure well this year, going a superb 48-23 against the money line as a favorite of -110 or higher this season. The Braves are an even better 33-13 against the money line as a favorite of -125 to -175 this season. Atlanta is 13-1 against the money line vs. an NL starting pitcher whose ERA is 3.50 to 4.20 this season, cashing 93% of the time. Olsen is 2-16 against the money line vs. teams who strand 7.5 or more runners on base per game in the second half of the season since 1997, losing 89% of the time. Take the Braves Thursday.
