The ACC heads into Week 7 this Saturday and every game from here on is vitally important. Bowl berths are still on the line and so is the ACC championship. While some of the perceived stronger teams have struggled as of late, some surprising teams have emerged and have made names for themselves. NFL Week 6 – Top Pointspread Plays

NFL Week 6- Top Three ‘Point Spread’ Plays
The odds makers have done a good job at keeping the lines sharp this season and last week was no exception. Seven favorites and six underdogs each won against the spread and seven home teams and six road teams did the same. We cashed on Oakland’s straight-up win over Houston as a six-point road underdog and benefitted from an early spread of 9.5 points on the Jets (this line actually closed at 7.5 points on most books). The lone setback of the week was New Orleans, as it could not cover the 6.5 points against Carolina.

Sixth-ranked Oklahoma State gets a chance to show the country it’s a true, BCS title contender with an afternoon matchup at No. 22 Texas on ABC. The Cowboys’ offense is really something to behold, so if you haven’t got a chance to watch Brandon Weeden & Co. yet this year, here’s your shot. Later Saturday, if you’ve been drinking heavily, go ahead and tune into OU-Kansas on ESPN2. You’ll get to see another national-title contender, although the Sooners are playing arguably the worst team in all of major-college football. This weekend marks the halfway point of the college football season. It seems like only a few articles ago I was making my 2011 predictions.
Three Pac-12 teams are ranked this week in the Associated Press poll — No. 7 Stanford, No. 9 Oregon and No. 18 Arizona State — but the conference will be hard pressed to send a team to the Bowl Championship Series national title game.
Oregon at Stanford on Nov. 12 figured to be the Pac-12 game of the year entering the season and nothing has altered that script.

The number of top 25 teams in the SEC has been reduced to five after Florida fell out of the rankings when it lost its second straight conference game by a large margin. When it comes to conference records, No. 15 South Carolina and Georgia lead the East Division at 3-1, while the West Division features the top two teams in the nation, No.1 LSU and No.2 Alabama at 3-0. The other two ranked teams in the SEC- West are No.10 Arkansas at 1-1 and No.24 Auburn at 2-1.

I like the slate of games this weekend even though Michigan vs Michigan State is a little dull for the marquee in that noon slot. In looking at the battle for Michigan I expect a back and forth affair between teams looking to build confidence and prove they are capable of challenging for a title..and don’t sleep on Northwestern vs Iowa. The Wildcats have owned the Hawkeyes of late with both teams coming off of losses that weren’t that far from being victories the desperation factor should be high…but the game with the most intrigue for me is Ohio State vs. Illinois. For three quarters last Saturday night it looked like maybe the Buckeyes hadn’t fallen that far but then the wheels came off in Lincoln and they crashed and burned. Meanwhile Illinois is cruising and looking like a legit title contender and overall program on the rise. They are playing great on offense and their defense is better than expected. With everything at OSU another loss might be a clincher in their demise due to the program’s recent wicked ways while an Illinois win would be the biggest since they beat OSU in their most recent Rose Bowl season. NFL Week 5- Top Three ‘Point Spread’ Plays
The odds makers sharpened their pencils to a fine point last week as they split the favorite and the dogs right down the middle at 8-8. The road teams had a slight edge with 10 winning against the spread. We crashed and burned on a couple of AFC North teams; going down with the ship on Cleveland and Pittsburgh as well as on a Miami team that is worse than first expected.
