Miami at North Carolina (-3) – 12:30 PM ET on ESPN3

This could be the closest of the ACC games of the weekend. Miami played Virginia Tech tough and could be in store for yet another all-too-familiar close encounter this week. Lamar Miller, Giovani Bernard and Jacory Harris are all playing well for Miami but I like North Carolina’s solid defense to be the difference in this one. NC moves to 6-1 on Saturday!

Prediction: North Carolina -3 – Bet Now

Florida State didn’t look good at all on the road last week against Wake Forest and I am afraid that the Demon Deacons may have exposed the Seminoles for what they are – a turnover-prone, undisciplined lot that may not be ready for prime-time. Duke is fairly solid in every aspect of the game and should give the Seminoles fits. Duke may not win (they just may however) but they will keep this game close at very worst!

Prediction: Duke to cover the 13 ½ – Bet Now

Georgia Tech has been a nice surprise this season and with an unpredictable offense that will easily take care of Virginia on Saturday. Although Virginia is coming off their bye, Georgia Tech’s offense will serve as one of their biggest tests of the season. Tech rolls!

Prediction: Georgia Tech -7 – Bet Now

#19 Virginia Tech (-7) at Wake Forest – 6:30 PM ET on ESPN3

Finally the real Virginia Tech team showed up last week. Despite a banged up defense, I like the Hokies to get it done against a surprisingly tough Wake team on Saturday. David Wilson and the running game will be the difference in this one as Wake’s undefeated conference streak will come to an end. I like Virginia Tech. to pull away and barely cover – the cream always rises to the top!

Prediction: Virginia Tech -7 – Bet Now

#8 Clemson (-8 ½) at Maryland – 7:00 PM ET on ESPNU

Clemson will try to keep their undefeated season going on Saturday and will have to do so with a banged up quarterback. Tajh Boyd will start but will likely be slowed with a hip injury. Expect Clemson to lean on the running game a little more this week against a Maryland team that has had some issues stopping the run this season. Maryland has played tough teams well so far this season but Clemson is a different kettle of fish!

Prediction: Clemson -8 ½ – Bet Now

In what is shaping up to be the most improbable marquee New York matchup without the Jets takes place on Sunday as the 4-1 Buffalo, New York Bills take on the New York, New York Giants – in New Jersey! The Giants will be eager to avenge a brutal late game meltdown against the Seahawks last week while the Bills will be looking to build on what was another impressive performance in Week 5.

Click Here for more Free Expert NFL Football Picks

Buffalo is no joke folks. Take a look at the teams that they have beaten this season – KC, Oakland, New England and Philadelphia have all fallen victim to this underrated team. The Bills are the total package – 13th in passing offense, 4th in rushing and 3rd in scoring. On defense, they have been leaky but opportunistic. They are 30th in yards allowed (422 yards per game) but they have forced at least two turnovers in each game this season. The defense has 16 takeaways and has returned three interceptions for touchdowns.

Ryan Fitzpatrick, Fred Jackson, Stevie Johnson, David Nelson and Scott Chandler are all playing at a high level – they are tough to handle.

The Giants are a tough team to predict. Going into Week 5 they looked very good – they were clicking on offense and had reeled off three straight wins. But last week, the team just looked bad. Defensively they let Tavaris Jackson and Charlie Whitehurst have good games. They gave up 145 yards rushing to the worst rushing team in the NFL and they turned the ball over 5 times.

The Giants offense has not been the problem. Eli Manning has been good – he passed for 420 yards against Seattle (three interceptions), Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz are having great seasons. Too bad about the running game – 28th ranked and averaging 83.80 yards per game.

If New York wants to be in that upper echelon of teams, they have to do something about their defense. Injuries is a big part of their misfortune but the unit as a whole is giving up 122.0 yards per game on the ground (21st), 251.2 yards per game against the pass (18th) and they are giving up an uncharacteristic 24.60 points per game (19th).

Betting Prediction: The Buffalo Bills are 8-3-1 ATS in their last 12 games as underdog and are 6-2 ATS in their last eight as road dog. The New York Giants are just 4-10 ATS as a home favorite and are 2-5 ATS in their last seven home games.

This game has shootout written all over it. Both teams have good offenses that will move the ball against the weak defenses. Turnovers could be the difference in this game. Buffalo has taken care of the ball for the most part this season while the Giants, although starting off well, gave the ball away five times last week. Buffalo has averaged over three takeaways per game this season. How can you bet against them?

The odds makers have the New York Giants as a -3 point favorite with an over/under of 50.5.

Pick: Buffalo Bills +3

Total: 44.5 points

The Oakland Raiders will play their first home game since the loss of their emotional leader Al Davis this weekend when they take on a surprising Cleveland Browns squad that is fresh off a bye. Oakland is coming off an impressive 25-20 win at Houston in Week 5 while the Browns will be looking to build on a 17-16 win over Miami before their bye.

Click Here for more Free Expert NFL Football Picks

Cleveland, despite an impressive run has its share of issue – none more pressing than the contract squabble between the team and their star running back Peyton Hillis. Hillis is unhappy and he has made his feelings known. But despite the public war, the Browns running game is clipping along at a decent pace. They are only 27th in the NFL with an average of 88.75 yards per game but Hillis and backup Montario Hardesty are averaging a respectable 4 yards per carry this season.

With limited opportunities to run the ball, Cleveland has been forced to rely on the passing prowess of Colt McCoy who has not disappointed so far this season. McCoy and the passing game rank 17th in the NFL averaging 235.25 yards per game and are coming off a 350 yard performance in their Week 4 game against Miami. Mohamed Massaquoi, Ben Watson and Josh Cribbs have become good weapons for what has become a very underrated passing attack.

Cleveland’s defense has been OK this season as well. They have had their issues against the run ranking 25th and allowing 124.5 yards per game but they have been solid against the pass ranking 4th and allowing a shade over 195 yards per game. Cleveland allows the 13th fewest points in the league – just 23.25 per game. It goes without saying that the run defense is going to have to step up. Oakland is the 2nd best running team in the league and will certainly be trying to exploit Cleveland`s weak run D.

The Oakland Raiders certainly have emotion and momentum on their side heading into Sunday`s game. They also have the motivation of Darren McFadden who had his worst game of the season last week. Oakland is a sneaky 3-2 this season with aims of putting pressure on the San Diego Chargers atop the AFC West with another win this weekend.

Oakland has been getting it done this season with a surprisingly potent offense. The passing game, anchored by Jason Campbell is only ranked 22nd in the NFL with an average of 219.8 yards per game but they have proven that they are no slouches. With the 2nd ranked running game (161.8 yards per game), the pass is only necessary to set up the run anyhow. Darren McFadden leads the NFL in rushing through five weeks with 519 yards but he is coming off a substandard outing against Houston last week He and Michael Bush will look to bounce back and should have a ton of success against Cleveland`s 25th ranked run defense.

Oakland`s problem, surprisingly, has been their defensive play. They are 29th against the pass (299.60 yards per game), 22nd against the run (122.8 yards per game) and they are 31st in total defense allowing 438.6 yards per game. Oakland gives up 26.6 points per game – 28th in the NFL. Oakland`s defense is allowing teams to hang around. They have given up at least 400 yards in their last four starts and surrendered 473 yards to the Texans last week. Thank goodness for the rushing attack – Oakland has been dreadful defensively!

Betting Outlook: The Cleveland Browns are 4-1 SU in their last five games against Oakland but are just 2-6 SU and ATS in their last eight games overall. The Oakland Raiders have covered the spread in four of five games this season.

The Over could be an interesting play here too. Too weak defences will attempt to attack the others’ weakness. The Over is 4-1 in Cleveland`s last five games, is 5-1 in Oakland`s last six home games and is 6-3 in Oakland`s last nine overall.

Sunday`s showdown could easily serve as a bit of a letdown game for Oakland but the Raiders running game should be able to dominate Cleveland`s weak run defense. I like the Browns to keep it close for a while but for Darren McFadden to take over later in the game. The six points spread is tempting but look for the Raiders to pull away in the end.

Pick: Oakland Raiders -6 and the Over 44.5 points

Total: 48 points

The Green Bay Packers are truly on a role and this week get the honor of taking on one of the few winless teams remaining in the NFL. The oddmakers obviously like the Packers and you should too. It is not only a case of what the Packers have done so far this season but it is also a case of what the Rams haven’t been able to do this year that must factor into your pick ahead of Sunday’s action.

Click Here for more Free Expert NFL Football Picks

St. Louis has had a start to the season to forget! A serious contender to win the NFC West and gain a playoff spot, the Rams have stumbled and bumbled out of the gate on their way to a well deserved 0-4 start. The offense has been dreadful and the defense has been far too generous!

The St. Louis offense has been banged up and ineffective all season long. They are the 28th ranked passing team (187 yards per game), the 25th ranked running team (92.5 yards per game) and they are averaging a league low 11.5 points per game. One slight glimmer of hope is that they should get a banged up Steven Jackson back fully healthy after a much needed bye week.

The St. Louis defense has been equally as bad this season. They have been OK versus the pass but are dead last against the run, allowing 179.75 yards per game on the ground so far this season. The Rams are giving up 404.8 yards per game this season – good (or bad) for 27th in the NFL.

The Green Bay Packers bent last week against Atlanta but when it came time for the team to clamp down and step up, they did just that, scoring 29 straight points and shutting out the Falcons in the second half of Sunday night’s game. The Packers are a force on both sides of the ball and will be difficult to slow down for the rest of the season.

The Packers offense is absolutely top notch – 4th in passing and 4th in total offense. The running game has been a slight disappointment this season ranking 22nd and gaining only 99 yards per game on the ground. The 329 yards passing has more than made up for the shortcoming however – Aaron Rodgers and his league best 122.9 passer rating have dominated in every outing.

Green Bay’s defense has been stingy versus the run – 3rd ranked and allowing just 75.8 yards per game but it has been very generous versus the pass – 30th ranked and allowing 299.8 yards per game. This unit matches up very well with a St. Louis team that absolutely needs to run the ball in order to have success.

Betting Outlook: The St. Louis Rams are just 3-19 SU in their last 22 games on the road and are 2-6 SU in their last eight trips to Lambeau. St. Louis is 0-5 ATS in their last five games as underdog.

The stats don’t really mean a thing in this game. Much has been made of the extra week preparation time that Steve Spagnuolo and the Rams have had with their bye but one cannot ignore the obvious – The Packers area much, much better team. At home against a wounded Rams team, I expect this to be the blowout of the weekend!

The odds makers have the Green Bay Packers as a -15 point favorite with an over/under of 48.

Total: 35.5 points

Two teams that won their divisions last season will look to show signs of improvement when the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Indianapolis Colts in a battle of the battered bruised and brutal. The Chiefs are a shell of the team that surprised the league last season with Jamaal Charles, Eric Berry and Tony Moeaki all out for the season. Indianapolis is not immune to the injury bug either – Peyton Manning and defensive standouts Eric Foster, Gary Brackett and Melvin Bullitt have all been lost for the season.

Kansas City will be looking to build on their first win of the season – a 22-17 win against Minnesota in Week 4. The team has been awful this year on both sides of the ball and are lucky to have registered one win. A matchup against another underwhelming and banged up team could certainly serve as their second and perhaps last win of the 2011 season.

Offensively, the Chiefs look like they are going to have to depend on Matt Cassel and the passing game for success as scary as that sounds. Since Jamaal Charles went down, lead back Thomas Jones has looked terrible and has averaged only 2.8 yards per carry (a total of 11 yards on the season). Dexter McAlister has been better but he is obviously not the answer. It is clear that the Chiefs can all but rule out the prospect of running their way to victory.

That leaves Matt Cassel to shoulder the load. He has completed 64.9% of his passes this season, has averaged 172 yards passing per game, and has four touchdowns and five interceptions so far. Ugly numbers to depend on don’t you think?

Defensively, the Chiefs haven’t been much better. They rank last with 31.5 points allowed per game and they are 26th versus the run allowing 130 yards per game. Overall, the Chiefs give up 372.8 yards per game.

Indianapolis has looked better in the last two games although that is not saying much! They hung with Pittsburgh and they gave Tampa Bay quite a scare on Monday night. The offense is banged up and the defense has been decimated by injury.

The Colts will go with Curtis Painter at quarterback on Sunday. He has passed for 314 yards and two touchdowns this season including a 13-30, 281 yards, two touchdown effort on Monday. One thing we can say is that he goes to his arsenal of weapons often – not a bad plan when he has Reggie Wayne, Dallas Clark and Pierre Garcon in the fold. Joseph Addai looks better so far this season and will be a tremendous asset to the largely untested Painter.

Despite the optimism in Indianapolis, the Colts are 30th in total offense with 270 yards per game, 29th in scoring with 15.8 points per game and 28th in rushing with 83 yards per game.

On defense, Indianapolis has been a disaster. They are 25th in the NFL in total yards against (390.3) and are 28th against the run (133 yards per game). This unit gave up 466 yards last week against Tampa including 192 yards on the ground.

Betting Outlook: The Kansas City Chiefs are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games against the AFC and versus Indianapolis. However, the Chiefs are 9-4 ATS as a road underdog.

The Indianapolis Colts have won nine of their last 10 games against Kansas City but are just 2-6 ATS in their last eight games at home.

The Indianapolis Colts deserve a win! Seriously! They hung with two very tough teams and came out on the short end two weeks in a row. I think they get their first win on Sunday against a totally underwhelming Chiefs team. Take the Colts to prevail in a game between two teams that will most certainly be in the race for Andrew Luck!

Pick: Indianapolis Colts -1 ½

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (1-3) vs. NEW YORK GIANTS (3-1)

Where: MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, New Jersey
Moneyline: Seahawks +350, Giants -425
Total: 43.5 points

The Hot New York Giants are home this Sunday to a Seattle Seahawks team that has had its share of problems winning on the road, particularly in the Eastern time zone. Seattle, coming off a hard fought and somewhat impressive home loss to the Atlanta Falcons take a 1-3 record into Sunday`s game against a Giants squad that has not lost since Week 1. New York is currently listed as a 10 point favorite with the Total set at 43.5 points.

Click Here for more Free Expert NFL Football Picks

Seattle has been getting better. A struggling offense has been bolstered by the return of Sidney Rice to the lineup and the newfound confidence of the much maligned Tavaris Jackson. In two games Rice has 188 yards receiving on 11 catches while Jackson passed for 319 yards and three touchdowns against the Falcons last week. The problems are plentiful still for the Hawks – they have the second worst offensive line in the NFL allowing 14 sacks and they have the league`s second worst rushing attack with an average of just 67.5 yards per game.

Seattle`s defense will be tested on Sunday. This unit has looked decent at times especially against the run but are allowing an incredible 33 points per game.

The New York Giants are 3-1 and fully deserving of their NFC East leading record. They have been limiting mistakes and they never appear to be out of a game – astounding considering the injuries that this team has been forced to deal with early in the season. Eli Manning is largely responsible for New York’s success. He has thrown six touchdowns in his last two games and has now gone 90 passes without throwing an all-too-familiar interception. Hakeem Nicks is recovered from injury as evidenced by his 10 catch, 163 yards, one touchdown effort last week and Victor Cruz has been a revelation in the Giants passing game.

The Giants running game has had its share of critics this season but has been steadily improving as the season is rolling on. Ahmad Bradshaw and Brandon Jacobs will get a real chance to showcase their prowess this week in a game that they should control. Expect a good performance from the two headed rushing machine this week.

New York`s defense has been solid despite playing without Justin Tuck and Osi Umenyiora. Both should be active this week to terrorize the sieve like Seattle offensive line. They will be a welcome addition to a unit that has allowed 116.5 yards per game this season (128 in Week 3 and 138 in Week 4).

Betting Outlook: The Seahawks are a notoriously bad road team. They have lost both road games this season by an average of 20 points and are 0-9 in their last nine games in the Eastern time zone.

New York is simply rolling at the moment and should continue to do so this weekend. Eli Manning is playing his best ball of the last couple of years and the defense appears healthy for the first time this season. New York`s one weakness is their run defense, a unit that shouldn`t have much problem containing a Seattle rushing attack that have averaged just 67.5 yards per game this season.

This game has blowout written all over it. New York is Hot – Seattle is not! 10 points don`t scare me at all – the Giants will role on Sunday and send a message to the rest of the NFC East in the process!

Where: EverBank Field, Jacksonville, Florida
Broadcast: CBS

Spread: Jaguars -1 ½
Moneyline: Bengals +115, Jaguars -135
Total: 37.5 points

An interesting matchup of teams with rookie quarterbacks comes our way on Sunday when the 2-2 Cincinnati Bengals take on the 1-3 Jacksonville Jaguars. The Bengals were impressive last week in knocking off one of the two remaining unbeaten teams, Buffalo while the Jags looked OK but lost their third straight game.

Click Here for more Free Expert NFL Football Picks

Cincinnati has already exceeded expectations. With Carson Palmer gone and Cedric Benson in hot water once again, Cincinnati has rallied behind Andy Dalton and a defense that nobody saw coming. If anyone would have suggested that the Bengals could be over .500 with five games gone in the 2011 season, they would have been laughed out of the building.

Offensively, Cincinnati hasn’t been anything special. Their passing game is 22nd in the NFL with an average of 225.2 yards per game and their young quarterback is 17th in the league with an unflattering 76.9 QB rating. Andy Dalton has tossed four interceptions versus just one touchdown in his last two games including a decent 298 yards, one touchdown, and two interception game versus Buffalo. The Bengals have some pieces in place in the passing game however – AJ Green seems to be the real deal and Jermaine Gresham is one of the most exciting young Tight End prospects in the game.

The Bengals’ offensive success can be tied to Cedric Benson, who, at any time, could be handed a league suspension for off-field issues. Benson was terrific last week rumbling for 104 yards in their win.

Defense has been the story of Cincinnati’s season so far. They are the #1 unit in the NFL allowing 275.5 yards per game. This unit has surrendered an average of 18.5 points per game although they are average against the run – 16th ranked and giving up 107 yards per game.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have not looked good at all the last three weeks. They have scored a total of 23 points in those games. Blaine Gabbert has been thrown to the wolves and is expected to perform with Mike Thomas as his best receiving threat. Overall, Jacksonville ranks 31st in offense with an average of 264.2 yards per game and they are dead last with an average of just 9.8 points per game.

The run is definitely Jacksonville’s strong suit – 6th in the NHL with 126.8 yards per game. Maurice Jones Drew currently ranks 3rd in the league with 97.8 yards per game on the ground. It is safe to say that rushing will be their key to victory – the passing game is only generating 137 yards per contest.

Betting Outlook: The Cincinnati Bengals are 1-7 ATS in their last eight games on the road and are 2-9 ATS in their last 11 games versus Jacksonville. The Jaguars have won four of the last five games against Cincinnati and are 7-0 and 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven home games versus the Bengals.

Cincinnati’s only defensive weakness plays right into the hands of the Jacksonville Jaguars but the Jags will need more than just a running game to defeat the fairly well rounded Bengals. In a low scoring game, expect Cedric Benson to be as effective as Maurice Jones-Drew and for Andy Dalton to outshine Blaine Gabbert. In a low scoring, run heavy game; take the road team to cover the spread.

Pick: Cincinnati Bengals +1 ½ and the Under – 37.5 points

Louisville at North Carolina (-14 ½) – 12:00 PM ET on EPSN2

This game should be all North Carolina! The 14 ½ points is tempting but I think that NC beats up on a Louisville team that is coming off a loss to Marshall of all schools! Louisville’s run defense (85 yards allowed per game) will pose a problem for Giovanni Bernard but won’t be enough to hold him down completely.

Prediction: North Carolina -14.5 – Bet Now

Maryland at #13 Georgia Tech (-14) – 12:00 PM ET on EPSNU

Just like in the Louisville/NC game, the line makes this game a tad difficult to pick. If I had some faith in Georgia Tech’s defense, it would be an easy choice. Still, on paper the Jackets are a far better team and are playing at home. Tech’s running game will be huge on their way to an easy victory.

Prediction: Georgia Tech -14 – Bet Now

#23 Florida State (-13) at Wake Forest – 12:30 PM ET on ESPN3

Wake Forest has looked decent over the past couple of weeks as they head into their matchup with FSU who had the bye week to prepare for this game. FSU Quarterback EJ Manuel should return from injury and out-duel Tanner Price in a close game. Although it would not be a huge shock of the Deacs somehow upset Florida State, I am taking the Seminoles to win a close game. Noles win outright with Wake Forest covering the Spread.

Prediction: Wake Forest +13 – Bet Now

Boston College at #8 Clemson (-20 ½) – 3:00 PM ET on ESPN3

Boston College has the unenviable task of heading into Clemson’s back yard on Saturday. Clemson’s Tajh Boys and his arsenal of weapons won’t be slowed in front of their home crowd. Although Boston College’s defense has impressed so far, they are badly outmatched in this one.

Prediction: Clemson -20.5 – Bet Now

Central Michigan at North Carolina State (-11) – 3:30 PM ET on ESPN3

Central Michigan looked respectable versus Michigan State and Ohio State this season but NC State is finally getting a little healthier and they are facing an absolute must win game at home. Look for NC State to pile it on this week and make a minor statement in the process.

Prediction: NC State -11 – Bet Now

Miami at #21 Virginia Tech (-7 ½) – 3:30 PM ET on ABC

Virginia Tech lost at home last week and is a scary team to wager your hard earned money on at the moment. Both teams are banged up especially on the defensive side of the ball making for a closer matchup than most would assume. Miami’s Lamar Miller could be the difference maker in this game. It is nearly unfathomable to think the Hokies lose two straight at home. I think they win a squeaker this week with Miami covering the 7 ½.

Prediction: Miami +7.5 – Bet Now

TENNESSEE TITANS (2-1) vs. CLEVELAND BROWNS (2-1)

When: Sunday, October 2, 1:00 PM ET
Where: Cleveland Browns Stadium, Cleveland, Ohio
Broadcast: CBS

Spread: Cleveland Browns -1
Moneyline: Tennessee Titans -105, Cleveland Browns -115
Total: 39 points

Two surprise 2-1 teams meet on Sunday when the Tennessee Titans take on the Cleveland Browns. So far this season, the Cleveland Browns have ground out their two victories while the Titans have used an unexpected high powered offense to beat the Ravens and the Broncos.

Click Here for more Free Expert NFL Football Picks

The Tennessee Titans took a major hit in last week’s win. Kenny Britt and his 289 yards receiving and 3 touchdowns were lost for the season due to a knee injury. He was far and away the biggest reason that Matt Hasselbeck has averaged 310 yards passing through three games this season. That leaves Nate Washington and Jared Cook to become the playmakers in this offense.

That’s where the Titans last ranked rush offense (51.7 yards per game) has to come in. Chris Johnson has been absolutely invisible this season averaging 2.1 yards per carry. His longest run this season is nine yards for god sakes! This week Johnson has to redeem himself and he gets to against a Browns rush defense that is has been very generous this season.

The Cleveland Browns are the least sexy 2-1 team in the last decade of football. There is absolutely nothing flashy about this team! Yet they are 2-1 after a bad loss against Cincinnati and then consecutive wins against Indianapolis and Miami.

Colt McCoy is coming off a decent game by his standard – 210 yards, two touchdowns and an interception last week. He will get his biggest weapon back this week – Peyton Hillis sat out last week with illness. Other than McCoy and Hillis, the Browns have names like Mohammad Massoquoi and Ben Watson to throw to and nobody else. Not all that inspiring but somehow effective nonetheless!

The biggest difference in this game is going to be the defense. While the Browns have been getting kicked around a little bit, the Titans have been the top unit in the NFL allowing 261 yards per game to their opposition while giving up an average of 14.3 points per game. Advantage – Tennessee in a big way.

The odds makers have the Cleveland Browns as a -1 point favorite with an over/under of 39.

Betting Outlook: The Cleveland Browns have surprisingly won three of the last four games between the two teams but Sunday should be different. The Browns are going to have to score points – Tennessee appears as if they will! With a true lack of playmakers on the Cleveland side, I just don’t see it happening. Nate Washington will be just fine in relief of Kenny Britt and Chris Johnson will finally show up in a game this season. Tennessee already beat Baltimore this season – that’s enough for me!

Pick: Tennessee Titans +1

It is hard to believe that Houston is a 4 point favorite over the Pittsburgh Steelers. I mean… it just doesn’t sound right! In what is one of the marquee matchups in Week 4 of the NFL schedule, the underdog Pittsburgh Steelers travel to Houston to take on a Texans team that appears poised to seize control of the AFC South.

The Pittsburgh Steelers didn’t look very good in their Week 3 matchup in Indianapolis. That has a few people slowly slinking off the Steelers bandwagon at the moment. Look, Pittsburgh is still an elite team that deserves a mulligan every once in a while – look at Baltimore’s loss versus Tennessee. Pittsburgh still has Ben Roethlisberger who is leading the league’s third best passing offense (294.9 yards per game), Mike Wallace who has quickly ascended to elite WR level and an underachieving running back – c’mon Rashard!

Pittsburgh, despite all of the scrutiny has the second best overall defense in the league – 263.3 yards per game) and they have only given up 18.3 points per game. The defense is fine people, the defense is fine!

The Houston Texans would be 3-0 if they hadn’t lost in heartbreaking fashion to the New Orleans saints. They played a heck of a game but came up just a bit short. Will the loss plague the Texans or will it motivate them?

Houston’s offense has picked up where it left off last season. Currently they are ranked 9th in total offense gaining an average of 400.7 yards per game and they are 7th in scoring with an average of 30 points per game. Matt Schaub hasn’t been brilliant he’s been smart! His success is tied to Andre Johnson and Johnson he has been looking Johnson’s way on offense. Arian Foster should return this week to boost the offensive attack. If Foster falters Ben Tate has been a more than adequate replacement.

The Houston defense looked better before they played the Saints but with Wade Philips’s influence, I have faith in this unit. They are 14th in total defense allowing 332 yards per game and 9th in scoring defense with an average of 20 points against per game.

The odds makers have the Houston Texans as a -4 point favorite with an over/under of 45.

Betting Outlook: The Pittsburgh Steelers are 7-3 SU in their last 10 games on the road and are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games as underdogs.

The one thing that Houston’s loss last week against New Orleans taught us is that Houston just may not be ready to graduate to the elite class of teams – they always struggle against the better teams in the NFL. Last week and all this season they have had issues finishing drives – in the first half of last week’s game Houston settled for four field goals on five Red Zone trips – not good enough. Pittsburgh is that elite type team that Houston has an impossible time with and should be able to rise to the occasion as underdog on Sunday.

Pick: Pittsburgh Steelers +4

Pittsburgh is 10-3 SU in its last 13 games

Pittsburgh18-6-1 SU in its last 25 games
